Challenges:

Progress:
- Decrease in FWA incidents. There has been a notable reduction in the percentage of respondents reporting various forms of fraud, waste, and abuse, with false claims and forged documents remaining the most prevalent
- Optimistic outlook. The number of respondents who anticipate an increase in FWA over the next two years has significantly declined, though some believe that advancements in AI technology could contribute to potential increases
Efficiency as a success metric. Efficiency has emerged as a key indicator of success among government departments, especially within local governments, reflecting a shift towards more performance-oriented governance
