by Practical Law Labor & Employment

Maintained | USA (National/Federal)

An employee code of ethics or conflict of interest policy for private, for-profit employers. The policy addresses an employee's use of their position with the employer or the employer's relationship with third parties for private gain, conflicts of interests between an employee's personal or financial interests and their work-related duties, giving and receiving gifts to or from third parties, the procedure for reporting potential conflicts of interest and violations of the policy, and a non-retaliation policy for reporting violations. It can be incorporated into an employee handbook or used as a stand-alone policy document. This Standard Document applies only to private workplaces.
