How do I change my account name?

All account name changes require paperwork to be completed.  The required paperwork varies based on the change being made.  Follow the below steps to request an update to your account name.

How to request an account name change

  1. Determine if your account name change is a ‘Same Owner’ or ‘New Owner’ name change by referring to the parameters below
  2. Fill out the associated ‘Same Owner’ or ‘New Owner’ name change form by downloading the file to your computer
  3. Save the completed pdf file to your computer
  4. Initiate your request by clicking on the ‘Submit a Request’ link
  5. Fill in your contact information and summary of your request and click ‘Next
  6. Click ‘Choose File’ and locate the saved ‘Same Owner’ or ‘New Owner’ name change pdf file on your computer
  7. Click ‘Attach/Upload Files
  8. Click ‘Submit’ to send your request to our Customer Service team

Same Owner Name Change

An account name change is a ‘Same Owner’ change when there is no change in ownership.  Typically, there is commonality between the old and new account names such as a common named partner.  Same Owner changes can also occur when a corporation changes their name as the result of an internal decision rather than a merger or buyout.

New Owner Name Change

An account name change is a ‘New Owner’ change when it is the result of a new entity being created.  No commonality between the two account names generally indicates new ownership of an account.

Submit a request

Submit a request for an account name change.  Attach your completed name change form on page two of the request.  We will respond to your request within 1-2 business days.

Important: All requests to change account names require a completed ‘Same Owner’ or ‘New Owner’ name change form to be attached as a pdf file on page two of the request form.  If you are unsure which form to complete, choose the ‘New Owner’ name change form.

Changes to attention lines do not require a name change form to be completed or attached. Make note within the comments that your requested change is for the attention line only.
