Adapting for 21st century success: the delta lawyer competency model
In this new white paper, authors Alyson Carrel, Clinical Associate Professor & Assistant Director, Center on Negotiation and Mediation and Natalie Runyon, Director, Enterprise Content for Talent, Inclusion & Culture summarize the first phase of efforts to research and validate the Delta Model, which was created as a concept and then tested against the perspectives of 45 professionals composed primarily of hiring managers of in-house counsel, hiring managers of outside counsel, and hiring managers of new law school graduates. Key insights gleaned from the research explain how Personal Effectiveness competencies are critical to the success of the 21st century lawyers and why Entrepreneurial Mindset, Adaptability, Emotional Intelligence, Business Fundamentals and Project Management & Workflow are high demand areas and where most improvement is needed.
